Facebook’s embrace of video hasn’t done much good for publishers’ balance sheets, so some have looked to make it a commerce driver, especially the News Feed algorithms priority on video content.

Digiday has provided examples of how Business Insider, Buzzfeed, Fatherly The Dot, PopSugar, and Brit + Co for flash product sales, affiliate marketing tracking and other not so successful initiatives.

Facebook audience data has also been a useful tool to help determine the type of products which need to be built for their audiences.
